About 4lyf

4Lyf is not a rapid response unit of aid workers who storm communities to fix problems with fully-baked, one-size-fits-all solutions. Our human-centred design philosophy focuses on building local capacity to improve livelihoods from the inside out.

We believe that by empowering local talent to shape their community transformation, there’s a greater chance of achieving the cultural shift needed for long term effectiveness. This approach includes identifying the right people within the community we need to work with, determining the level of support required, then providing that support to transform the community in a manner that sticks beyond the life of the project.

For our donors, we represent a commercially viable service offering that maximizes the impact of their investments and provides scalable delivery assurance to build self-sustaining communities across PNG and the Pacific.

Johan Nades,

Founder and Director, 4LYF

With a background in technology, project and change management consulting, Johan Nades possesses more than 16 years of experience gained through successfully delivering strategic outcomes via senior consulting and internally appointed leadership roles across the APAC region.

At the end of 2018, he decided to focus his energy and efforts on issues closer to this heart. In particular, fighting poverty in all forms in the South Pacific, beginning with his birth country of PNG then scaling across the other islands. After spending considerable time in PNG visiting remote communities and sharing experiences with local elders, it was apparent that a large number of community initiatives failed as they weren’t sustainable beyond the life of the project.

The goal of 4Lyf is to deliver impactful community projects within a shorter period of time, less than half the cost and in an exclusively sustainable way.

With a passion for quality outcomes, Johan is completely in his element when implementing community-centric solutions in challenging circumstances.
